Itinerary and highlights

07:00am be ready at your hotel lobby in Amman. Your English speaking driver meets you with a signage in your name, and you drive along the fastest route, the Desert Highway, in southern direction to Petra. Reaching Petra your driver matches you with your private guide. The guide will introduce you to the history of Petra, built by the Nabateans. The tour covers the Treasury, the Street of Facades, the Theatre and some of the Royal Tombs. The guided tour lasts 2.5 hours but you can stay up to 3.5 hours inside Petra Archaeological Park. The driver waits for you at the main gate to take you for lunch at a local restaurant.

Afterwards drive 25 km to Shobak castle. You have free time at the castle, a guide is not included. Shobak was known as Montreal and had been built in 1115 by Baldwin I of Jerusalem. At that time it was located along the pilgrimage and caravan routes. The location and the views from Shobak castle are still worth a visit.
